STATE INSPECTIONS

Are you a resident of Texas or have you just moved into this great state? It is mandatory for your vehicle to be inspected to ensure minimum gas emissions from vehicles and to comply with safety regulations. All vehicles including motorbikes, bicycles, scooters and recreational vehicles need to undergo an annual inspection which is a requirement by the government. All vehicles that use gasoline must undergo an emission test. If the process of is successful, a person gets one sticker for the inspection and registration.

The Process

The safety inspection is done to ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy and is safe for use.Special emphasis is given to the following parts:

  • Brakes
  • steering
  • tires
  • airbags
  • lights
  • horns
  • reflectors
  • wipers
  • Side mirrors
  • Vehicle identification number which should match with the number on the insurance certificate
  • Window Tint
  • Financial responsibility.

The inspections are done by a few garages appointed by the State.

You always get an alert a few weeks before the expiration of the vehicle inspection which is done annuallyto give you time for amplepreparation. Do not wait to be reminded though, mark the expiry date and schedule an inspection at least a week in advance. This will help you set aside the time and the resources for that particular purpose.

Two Steps One Sticker

Upon completing the process of registration and inspection, one is issued with one sticker which should be displayed on the windscreen. It comes with a few advantages such as:

  • Having one sticker for both processes unlike there before when each process had its ownsticker.
  • Saves on time because both processes run concurrently.
  • Reduces paperwork.
  • Occupies less space on the windscreen since only one sticker applies for both processes.
  • All gasoline powered motor vehicles have to undergo an emission test. This, in turn, reduces the emission of harmful gases into the air hence ensuring that the environment is less polluted.
  • Reduction in fraudster cases.

Always keep your inspection report safely for reference purposes.
